Generative AI Projection Mapping for Wonder Festival in Kortrijk

Project executed by Devine colleagues Wouter Verweirder and Frédérick Baert

For the Wonder Festival in Kortrijk students contribute by creating the designs for the projection mapping on a location in the city. This year, colleagues Wouter and Frédérick contributed by exploring what they could come up with in a three day sprint. They developed a part of the projection mapping that included over 200+ generated designs based on the shape or outline of the tower.

Workflow

Wouter was responsible for setting up a ComfyUI workflow and Frédérick created 3D motion designs in After Effects to allow for smooth transitions between generated images, as well as worked his magic with some minimal lighting to underscore the 3D effect. Results

1500 generated images, curated to a selection of 200 images by Wouter and Frédérick, were presented on the Belfort tower in the city of Kortrijk.
